Chelsea Research Festival

5th period (CHS students only)

5:00-6:30pm (open to all)

Chelsea High School Gymnasium, 299 Everett Ave, Chelsea, MA

Chelsea residents are knowledgeable, resilient, and resourceful. We take an active role in our community and in our health, and often work with researchers who study how to improve quality of life amidst challenges related to access to services, environmental injustice, and COVID-19 spread. However, the Chelsea residents who spend time and energy participating in research often don't get to hear about the results of these studies.

In a first-of-its-kind event, the Chelsea Research Festival, we aim to highlight Chelsea residents' contributions to science and bridge the gap between community and research. This event is being planned by Chelsea residents, Chelsea organizations (Bunker Hill Community College Chelsea Campus, Chelsea Public Schools, City of Chelsea, GreenRoots, HarborCOV, La Colaborativa), Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center, and the MGH Chelsea Community Research Program.

The event was held on May 18, 2023, during 5th period (for CHS students) and from 5:00-6:30pm (open to all), in the Chelsea High gym at 299 Everett Ave, Chelsea, MA. It was a poster session of research about Chelsea or by Chelsea community members.
